The Reluctant Chameleon
(Red vs. Green)
Death became the reluctant chameleon;
the reluctant Crimson chameleon.
A Wanderlust Pretender,
an epitaph of self proclaim;
it travels upon a knotted labyrinth
exploring it's Scarlet domain.
Taking cautious hesitant steps,
it goes from leaf to leaf;
traversing it's entire shelter
a Red maple its constant reprieve.
But with an urge of escapism,
an unyielding pull of the unseen;
our chameleon is drawn upon
an unexpectedly Chartreuse terrene.
Absorbed by this Terre Verte,
a churning world of Myrtle seas;
sporadic fireworks of Harlequin
explode in manicured effigies.
While a hunger lust devourer,
a coiled knot of fate;
wrapped in Viridian and Winsor
prudently lays in wait.
Suddenly to the Merlot adventurer,
a peregrine Thalo streak;
and Jade engulfs Garnet,
a contrast to spurn the meek.
So death became the reluctant chameleon;
the reluctant Crimson chameleon.
Prologue:
Curiosity might’ve killed the cat;
but procrastination killed the chameleon.
